Keswick's Lantern Parade

Welcome the start of Spring with a lantern parade through the streets to the shores of Derwentwater, where you will experience a very special celebration of fire and music. Bring your own lantern or make one in one of our special workshops.

The parade leaves at 7pm but meet from 6.30pm to light your lantern in time for the start of the parade.

Design and make your very own lantern to take home or bring to the Lantern Parade. Adults and children welcome, but under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
Workshop last for approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
Free, but booking is essential. Contact the National Trust on 017687 74649 to reserve your place.

An evening of lantern making and famous Lantini cocktails for over 18's only! Drop in after 9pm to take part.

The first Lakes Alive event of the year promises to be an enchanting evening with a sprinkle of magic. As the stars twinkle above Keswick, five mysterious white figures beckon you to join them for an evening procession in search of light. Follow them on a journey to their destination where they carry out a beautiful and bewitching finale to music, a symbolic gesture of optimism and hope.

Procession leaves at 6pm and lasts 1 hour, finishing at Hope Park.
