The Big Book Project
Storytree
The Big Book Project (part of the Derwentwater Foreshore Project) is now underway as three Keswick Primary Schools created stories about the Keswick Foreshore.
Threlkeld School, St Herbert’s School and Borrowdale School received a visit from Storytree as they began to explore stories based around issues on the foreshore.
Each school explored a theme, including tourism and leisure, the natural environment and the social history of the foreshore.
Threlkeld School perform their story
Threlkeld School created a mischievous character called John 'tricky' Jones who somehow finds his way onto Derwent Island House. St Herbert’s found inspiration in a well meaning Red Squirrel called Chipatzel Chedder, who creates havoc on the foreshore. Borrowdale School created a tale of a man, Tom Archibold, who lived in a cave in the valley 100 years ago.
St. Herbert's School get to work
You'll be able to see all of the school's work as part of the Big Book, handed over to Keswick as we celebrate the launch of the new foreshore in September 2009.
